This historical gem, once Jefferson Davies’ refuge, is since 2014 home to the Queue de Cheval restaurant. The former downtown private residence was excavated, and ceilings raised to 14 feet. An unanchored front terrace can be removed at any point, a trademark of Rumpf’s design flexibility. The grand interiors hold two revenue streams in the same space: a lobster bar and the renowned steak house. Today it is a favourite of Montrealers and visitors alike.
